Burn Ban

Due to drought-lke conditions, the Dorchester County Council has placed an open-air burning ban in effect for all of Dorchester County effective the 18th day of October 2024 at 8 am.
Main Street Traffic Safety

The Town of Secretary has utilized an independent company to conduct a Traffic Survey on Rt. 14/Main Street within the town limits from the Bridge to the School. Once the survey and results are complete, the Mayor and Commissioners will meet with Maryland Department of Transportation, Maryland State Police and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Department to develop a way forward. After a strategic plan has been developed we will hold a Public Hearing to provide an overview of the proposal and to get input from the residents. Our goal is to slow traffic and make Main Street safer for everyone.
New Meeting Dates

The Secretary Town Council voted to change the meeting nights back to the former schedule of every first and third Tuesday of each month.

Paystar Online Payments

You may now pay your water and sewer bills online. Paystar is up and running. Remember, there is a 3% service fee which goes to Paystar for administrative costs (example: if your bill is $200.00 your 3% fee will be $6.00). The Town does not receive any money from the use of this application.
